Reminders

Reminders help you keep track of the dates that matter, from birthdays and bills to appointments and events. You can set when a reminder is due, how far ahead to be reminded, and whether it repeats.

Adding a reminder

  1. Open the Reminders screen from the navigation.
  2. Tap + Add.
  3. Give the reminder a title, such as Mum's birthday or Pay rent.
  4. Choose a type: Birthday, Appointment, Event, Meeting, Bill or Custom.
  5. Set the date, and a time if it has one.
  6. Set the other options below as needed, then tap Save.

Repeat

If a reminder happens regularly, set Repeat to daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. A birthday is a natural yearly reminder, for example, while rent might be monthly. If it is a one-off, leave it set to does not repeat.

Remind me

The Remind me option chooses how far ahead you want to be reminded, from at the time up to a day before. So for an appointment you might pick 30 minutes before, and for a bill you might pick 1 day before to give yourself time.

Reminders in a shared workspace

When you add a reminder in a shared workspace, an extra Notify option appears. It lets you choose who the reminder is for: everyone in the workspace, only you, or a few selected people. This is handy for something like a shared bill that only certain people need to see. In your personal My Life workspace, reminders are simply yours.

How you are reminded

TumelLife shows your reminders in the app, including a notification within the app when one is due. Getting alerts while the app is fully closed is not part of TumelLife yet, so for now it is best to open the app regularly to stay on top of what is coming up. Keeping the app installed on your home screen makes that quick. See Install TumelLife.

Common questions

Will my phone buzz if the app is closed? Not yet. Reminders and alerts show within the app. Push notifications for when the app is closed are planned but not available at the moment.

Can a reminder repeat every year automatically? Yes. Set Repeat to yearly, which suits birthdays and anniversaries.
