Change your preferred name

Your preferred name is what TumelLife calls you, such as in your daily greeting. You can set it to whatever feels right, separate from your full name.

What the preferred name is for

Your preferred name is the friendly name shown around the app, for example in the hello at the top of your dashboard. It is also the name other members see in a shared workspace. It can be different from your full name, so you might have a full first name but prefer a shorter version.

Setting it

1. Open your profile from the top of the screen.
2. Find the Preferred name field.
3. Type what you would like to be called.
4. Save your profile.

Where it appears

Your preferred name shows in your greeting and in the workspaces you share, so the people you share with see the name you chose. When you change it, it updates in those places.

Common questions

What if I leave it blank? TumelLife will fall back to your first name for your greeting.

Does changing it affect my sign in? No. You still sign in with your email. The preferred name is only what you are called in the app.
