Delete your account
Deleting your account permanently removes your personal data from TumelLife. This guide explains how to do it, what gets removed, and one thing to handle first if you own shared workspaces.
Before you begin
Deleting your account cannot be undone. Once it is done, your personal workspace and everything in it is gone for good, so it is worth taking a moment to be sure.
There is one situation to handle first. If you are the owner of a shared workspace that still has other members in it, TumelLife will ask you to hand that workspace over or remove it before you can delete your account. This protects the other people who rely on that shared space. If you own a shared workspace with no other members, TumelLife will simply remove it along with your account.
Handle shared workspaces first
Steps to delete your account
- Open TumelLife and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Open your account menu from the top of the screen.
- Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete my account.
- Read the summary. It shows exactly what will be removed and which shared workspaces you will leave.
- If you still own a shared workspace with other members, you will be asked to transfer or delete it first. Handle that, then return here.
- Type the word DELETE to confirm you understand this is permanent.
- Enter your password.
- Choose Delete forever.
What gets removed
- Your personal workspace, My Life, and everything inside it, including your tasks, groceries, expenses, reminders, notes and meal plans.
- Your profile.
- Any pending invitations you created.
- Your sign in account.
You will also be removed from any shared workspaces you belonged to. The other members will see a short note in that workspace letting them know you left, so nobody is left wondering where you went.
What to expect afterwards
After you confirm, you will be signed out and shown a message that your account has been deleted. You will not be able to sign back in with that account. If you want to use TumelLife again later, you are welcome to create a new account at any time.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Deleting when you meant to leave a workspace. If you only want to step away from one shared space, use Leave a workspace instead.
- Forgetting to hand over a family or team workspace. If you are the owner of a shared workspace others depend on, transfer ownership first.
- Expecting to recover data later. Deletion is permanent. If there is anything you want to keep, note it down before you start.
