Shared workspace privacy

A shared workspace is meant for the things you keep together with other people. This article explains exactly what members can see, and how to keep private things private.

What members can see

Everyone in a shared workspace can see everything in it. That includes the tasks, groceries, expenses, reminders, notes, meals and cleaning items added there, by anyone. This is how a shared space is supposed to work, so the people you share with can stay on the same page.

What stays private

Your personal My Life workspace is private to you and is never shared. Nothing in it is visible to anyone else, no matter who you share other workspaces with. Your Today's Win entries are also always private to you, even inside a shared workspace.

Deciding what to share

Sharing in TumelLife is decided by which workspace something is in, not by a per-item setting. So the simple rule is this. If you want something shared, add it while the shared workspace is open. If you want it private, add it in your My Life workspace. There is no separate visibility switch to remember.

Before adding something, it is worth glancing at the workspace name shown at the top of the screen, so it ends up where you intend.

Leaving or removing access

If someone should no longer see a shared workspace, the owner can remove them, or a member can choose to leave. Once removed, a person no longer has access to that workspace's contents. See Remove a member and Leave a workspace.

Common questions

Can I hide one item from other members? No. Everything in a shared workspace is visible to its members. Keep private things in your My Life workspace instead.

Are my private notes or wins ever shared? No. Your My Life workspace and your Today's Win entries are always private to you.
